Baby Brown

Baby Brown will be joining us in June of 2012!!!  The due date we were given is June 16th, which is amazing for so many reasons.  Tom and I will have been married for 10 years on June 15th and Tom's birthday/Father's Day is June 17th.  We have joked about having a baby in the middle of those two dates since we got married; we just never thought it would happen.  We are beyond thrilled and more excited than we thought possible.  We have been praying for this baby for years and are glad the time is right we'll finally get to meet him or her.

Still learning

Over the past few weeks I've been reminded that God is always with us and never "forgets" about us even if we don't see things moving like we think they should.

My step-dad Richard had a triple bypass surgery twelve days ago that we didn't think he would make it through.  Not only did he make it through the surgery and all of the hurdles that came along with it, he gets to go home today.  I'm still learning that God is in control and still amazes me with how he works in our daily lives.  Thank you to everyone that prayed for him, the doctors, nurses and my family.  It means more than you'll ever know.

Also, at church yesterday I was reminded that everyone around has something they need prayer for or know someone who does.  It made me realize that I shouldn't get so caught up in my own issues that I forget to look for someone else that needs prayer as well.  I have had my own major prayer request for the past year about having a baby and I know in the Lords time it will happen if it's supposed to.  It's just tough waiting and being disappointed every month.

I'm still learning daily about this thing called life and God's plan for my life, and I'm okay with that.  :)

Favorite Quotes

Quotes that I've found or heard over the years that I love:

"What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now."

"Sometimes what you want isn't always what you get, but in the end what you get is so much better than what you wanted"

"You will never be content with what you have until you make peace with who you are."

“Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." ~Christopher Robin

"True love is not how you forgive, but how you forget, not what you see but what you feel, not how you listen but how you understand, and not how you let go but how you hold on."

"Breakdowns can create breakthroughs. Things fall apart so things can fall together."

"God understands our prayers even when we can't find the words to say them."

Hopefully one of these inspire you like they have so many times for me.  :)

Joy

So, tomorrow marks the month anniversary of having our own place again.  All I really have to say to that is we love it!!  I love the snuggles on the couch, making dinners in my own kitchen, and not having to worry about what anyone else is doing.

It was long, sometimes frustrating, journey of living with other people.   But, lately Tom has been encouraging me to find the joy in the journey.  I guess living with other people and not having our own space makes me enjoy the time and privacy we now have together even more.  I'm not sure that I would ever take that path again and live with other people, but it made us stronger as a couple and for that I'm grateful.

I will post pictures soon of our apartment as I just found the camera charging cord yesterday.  Until then I'm going to keep finding joy in the journey and enjoying my alone time with Tom.

Lists

I have found things always go easier for me when I make lists.  Usually my lists are endless things I have to do or things that need to get done.  It occurred to me last night that I could also make lists just to remind me how lucky I am.

**Mushy alert**

So, here are some reasons I love my husband:

1. He's extremely patient.  If you know me you know that's huge.  :)

2. He's passionate about everything he does.

3. He will try anything once.  Whether it be my cooking or playing Dance Central in front of everyone.

4. He works hard to help provide for our family.

5. He's going to be a great dad someday.  I can just tell.

6. No matter what kind of day I've had - just seeing his smile makes it all better.

7. He always knows the right thing to say to make any situation better.

8. Did I mention he's patient??

9. He encourages me to try new things and never laughs (very long) when it doesn't quite turn out the way I think it will.

10. He is my best friend and I can tell him anything and know he won't judge me.

I could also type out my other currents lists, but I'm sure no one wants to see my grocery list or my things to do around the house list. :)

My Love

As today is Valentine's Day it's only appropriate to blog about love.  Tom has been my rock, my best friend...my everything. He's super patient (if you know me that's huge), kind, funny, sexy, affectionate, charming, laid back, and all around a great person to be around. Sometimes when I look at him I am just so amazed that this man loves me and that he is mine forever! I know I don't deserve him, but I hope he never figures that out!!  Happy Valentine's Day Tom!  I love you!
